When you are thinking about dental treatment in another country, price is rarely the first worry. Hygiene is. It is a fair question, and you should ask it at any clinic, here or at home.

What we use

At K9 Dental Hospital, reusable instruments are cleaned, sealed in sterilisation pouches and run through a Class-B autoclave at 134°C. Class-B machines draw air out of the chamber before steam goes in, so steam reaches inside hollow and wrapped instruments, not just the outside.

What you will see on the day

  • Instruments opened from sealed pouches in front of you.

  • Single-use items such as bibs, gloves and suction tips changed for every patient.

  • Treatment rooms wiped down and reset between appointments.

Questions worth asking any clinic abroad

  • What type of autoclave do you use, and at what temperature?

  • Are instruments wrapped before sterilisation?

  • Can I see the sterilisation area?

If a clinic is vague about any of these, keep looking.

Come and see for yourself

Get helpful answers to frequently asked questions about dental care, treatments, and appointments.

How often should I visit the dentist for checkups?

Most people benefit from a routine dental checkup and cleaning every six months. Your dentist may recommend more frequent visits based on your individual oral-health needs.

What can I do to prevent tooth decay effectively?

Brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, clean between your teeth every day, limit sugary snacks and drinks, and keep up with regular dental checkups.

Are professional teeth cleanings necessary for oral health?

Yes. Professional cleanings remove hardened plaque and tartar that brushing alone cannot reach, helping lower the risk of cavities, gum disease, and bad breath.

What should I expect during my first dental appointment?

Your first visit usually includes a review of your health history, an examination of your teeth and gums, possible X-rays, and time to discuss any concerns or treatment options.

How can I keep my gums healthy every day?

Brush gently along the gumline twice a day, floss or use interdental cleaners daily, eat a balanced diet, and book a dental visit if you notice bleeding, swelling, or sensitivity.
